Chances are, if you’re reading this piece, you have a dog who fights crating tooth and nail. So sorry, that is stressful for everyone.

If this is the case, here are a few hints to help you help your dog:

  • Make his new crate a positive place.
  • Use heavy duty zip ties to strengthen edges and corners.
  • If the crate has a single door, face that to the wall after your dog goes in.
  • If your dog has been opening the gate, rig it so he cannot.
  • Try some medications, see if any help.
  • Exercise him more – both mentally and physically.

Good luck! If you get one of these crates, let us know how that works out. The more info we have the better.

  1. Hello Sarah, I will be moving to an apartment in about 3 months or so & would like to know if there is a way to soundproof a dog cage/crate so that his bark won’t be so loud just in case, and won’t bother the neighbors. I have been looking at web-sites on soundproofing & some suggested having carpet that will absorb the noise, which my apartment already comes with it, & not put the crate/gate next to the wall where the neighbor will hear the sound. Of course I’m not planning of spending a fortune to soundproof the whole place, My budget is very limited. Hope you have some ideas or suggestions. My dog is my life since I lost my husband few years ago. Also, my dog, a Terrier mutt looks like the movie “Benji”, which that is also his name, can destroys things & get out of his kennel by bending the chain link fences. He hasn’t been an escape artist for about 5 months now since I tied it down really good. He tried, but can’t escape no more. I really need a heavy duty cage/crate that he can’t bend the bars at all. Do you know of any cages/crates like that. Thanks. Alex
